An exclusive collection of iconic eyewear: from Ed Scarlett, who invented the spectacle frame in 1727, to Oliver Goldsmith, who made it a statement of style 200 years later.

The Ocularium offers bespoke, custom, and ready-to-wear frames, that can be completed with prescription or non-prescription lenses in clear or tinted finishes.

our premises

The Ocularium operates from 34 Montagu Square: a Regency townhouse whose former residents include Ringo Starr, Jimi Hendrix and John Lennon.

Consultations for the commission of made-to-order frames or selection of ready-to-wear models are available by individual appointment.

bespoke & custom made

Handmade in London, ED SCARLETT frames blend modern design and precision engineering with artisanal tradition, crafted in a kaleidoscopic spectrum of colours.

Clients may select CUSTOM frames from existing designs, or commission a full BESPOKE service where the creative process begins entirely from scratch.
