By the 1930’s, sunglasses had really come into their own. Style sirens of the silver screen such as Greta Garbo and Joan Crawford had an enormous influence on what women were wearing and these sunglasses play homage to the era and in particular, the iconic 1939 Vogue magazine cover. Featuring large paddle temples, which were typical of the period, these frames are handmade in Japan from acetate and come with 2-base flat lenses with backside AR (anti-reflective) coating.
